MAKKAH: A team from the Omani Haj Mission for 1447 AH, headed by Dr Zaher bin Abdullah al Hosni, Deputy Head of the Omani Haj Mission for Pilgrims Affairs and Haj Companies, departed for Madinah to provide services to Omani pilgrims arriving in the city.

Al Hosni explained that about 3,000 pilgrims will travel to Madinah to visit the Prophet’s Mosque before proceeding to Makkah to perform Haj. He added that the team will remain in Madinah until the Dhul Hijjah 5.

He explained that the team’s work in Medina will include providing religious guidance and preaching services by the Fatwa and Religious Guidance delegation, health services by the medical delegation and security and safety services by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) delegation.

Members of the Haj companies supervision delegation will also conduct field visits to check on the Omani pilgrims arriving in Medina and will visit their accommodations to ensure they receive the services agreed upon in their contracts with the Haj companies.

It is worth noting that the number of pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman this year reached 14,000, including 13,560 Omani citizens and 440 residents.

Meanwhile, the Omani Haj Mission for the year 1447 AH reviewed operational mechanisms and preparations aimed at ensuring seamless services for pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman during the upcoming Haj season.

The discussions took place during a meeting of delegation heads and mission members at the mission headquarters in Makkah, chaired by Ahmed bin Saleh Al Rashidi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and Head of the Omani Haj Mission.

The meeting focused on preparations for Mina and Arafat camps, operational plans, and field coordination mechanisms to ensure pilgrims can perform rituals with ease and peace of mind.

Ahmed stressed the importance of integration among participating delegations and adherence to the highest standards of quality and efficiency in serving Omani pilgrims. He described serving pilgrims as both an honour and a national responsibility that requires collective teamwork.

Participants also reviewed the readiness of specialised teams responsible for administrative, medical, guidance and media services, while discussing ways to strengthen emergency response systems and ensure round-the-clock support for pilgrims. — ONA
